Adapter ring for pre-filter in chemical, biological and radiological environments

Patent Identifier:
20120313370

An axi-symmetric adapter is provided for attaching to a pre-filter bag as a pre-filter assembly for use with chemical, biological, and radiological filtration systems. The bag has an annular retention ring, with the assembly being insertable into a cavity of an M98 Filter Bank or other Navy-designated Collective Protection System filter housing. The adapter includes tang, groove, flange mezzanine rings. The tang ring has an exterior bevel edge and terminates a reverse side of the adapter.

Water Atomizing Nozzle

The US Navy has developed and patented a nozzle that atomizes a water stream for firefighting and a variety of applications requiring lower use of water and water pressure. This device is lightweight and ideal for water constrained applications.

Improve Ultraviolet Radiation Water Disinfection with Silver Ions

The U.S. Army seeks licensees to commercialize a patented method for improving UV radiation disinfection of water through the synergistic use of minute quantities of aqueous silver. This invention was developed with the soldier in-the-field and army bases in mind but could be expanded to other applications including: pools, spas, industrial/municipal-scale water treatment facilities, and water treatment in developing nations.

Device and method for simulating natural cues so that waterborne fauna avoid contacting manmade barrier

Patent Identifier:
20030021632

Provided are a device and associated method for simulating natural hydraulic cues received instinctively by waterborne fauna. A preferred embodiment is suitable for modifying existing manmade barriers such as fish diversion screens used at dams. The simulated cues mimic those produced by the flow of water over rough streambeds. Fish detect the cues and avoid contact with the barriers in the same way that they avoid collision with natural features. In one embodiment, a series of rectangular plates are attached to the U-clip connectors on the downstream side of diversion screens.

Portable chemical sterilizer

Patent Identifier:
7625533

A portable, lightweight, easy-to-carry, reusable, durable, and environmentally-friendly assembly for sterilizing contaminated equipment using conditions of a chemical sterilant, heat, and humidity generated in situ without requiring external electricity, fuels, or other exogenous energy sources for operation.

Chemical combination for generation of disinfectant and heat

Patent Identifier:
20060097222

This invention comprises a lightweight, portable chemical combination of reagents for sterilizing or disinfecting objects in the absence of electrical power or fire. The chemical combination includes a chemical oxidant with the capacity to liberate a biocidal intermediate, a chemical reductant of the oxidant with the capacity to react with the oxidant, and an effector to induce a reaction between the oxidant and reductant. In one embodiment, the oxidant comprises chlorite, the reductant comprises sulfite, and the effector comprises ascorbate.

New Insect Repellent Compounds And Pharmacophore Model

The US Army seeks to commercialize through patent licensing four promising insect repellent compounds and a pharmacophore model for identifying additional arthropod repellent molecules.

Well Design Specification (WDS) Software

Researchers at the Naval Facilities Engineering Service Center (NFESC) have developed novel Well Design Specification (WDS) software to be used in fabricating a well for monitoring or remediation of contaminated soil and ground water. Patent No. 6,317,694 (issued November 13, 2004) discloses a method and apparatus for the selection of appropriate filter pack and slot size specifications for each screen depth of candidate wells.

This patent is available for licensing and application on behalf of military and commercial interests.

A Patented Method Underlies the Natural Cue Diversion Screen

An optimally performing fish screen does not cause injury or fish mortality; and, it does not interfere with migration or hydraulic efficiency. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Environmental Research and Development Center (ERDC), has invested extensively in the development of a fish behavior modeling capability. An ERDC patent has issued related to a method for determining the probable response of fish in flow fields (patent no. 6,160,759). This method is being implemented in modeling software and has already been utilized at a dam site in the Pacific Northwest.

Tactical Folding Knife

US Navy seeks to commercialize through patent licensing a unique folding knife design
