In an active radar augmentation system a microwave switch is connected been the receiving antenna and the amplifier. When there is an RF input signal to the receiving antenna of the augmentation system, a square wave timing signal provided to the microwave switch is adjusted to have the microwave switch in an open state during a time period when the coupling or feedback signal from the transmitting antenna of the augmentation system is received by the receiving antenna.

In the past, micromachines have been manufactured with planar technology associated with integrated circuitry. For example, a gas sensor may be constructed on a semiconductor chip and integrated with the controlling electronics thereon.
