NineSigma Partners With TechLink Adding Department of Defense to Global Network
Earthtimes.org
CLEVELAND, OH -- NineSigma, a leading provider of open innovation solutions to the enterprise, today announced that TechLink, a federal technology transfer intermediary, has joined its Innovation Alliance Program -- a global network of leading scientists, technologists and innovators. Like-minded in their missions, TechLink and NineSigma partner innovators and researchers with businesses seeking solutions to various research and development (R&D) and business challenges. TechLink's participation in the Innovation Alliance Program increases the opportunities and resources available to NineSigma's client-base, thereby furthering the concept of open innovation.
As a result of today's announcement, the Innovation Alliance Program expands to include access to TechLink's network of 80,000 researchers, innovative companies throughout the United States, and the Department of Defense (DoD) labs looking to commercialize leading-edge technologies.
"This relationship provides a powerful opportunity for us to forge technology partnerships between the Department of Defense Labs, small innovators, and, now, major U.S. corporations through NineSigma's Innovation Alliance Program," said Dr. Will Swearingen, executive director of TechLink. "Ultimately, our customers stand to benefit a great deal from the synergies between our networks."
TechLink is the only national program directly funded by the DoD to establish cooperative R&D and licensing agreements between DoD labs and private sector companies. Since 2002, TechLink has brokered more than one-third of all DoD licensing agreements nationwide. These agreements have yielded an approximate 4:1 return on investment for the DoD.
"TechLink's impressive network and proven success in transferring federal technologies to the private sector is a welcomed addition to our Innovation Alliance," said Paul Stiros, president and CEO of NineSigma. "The advantages for our customers are two-fold: access to technologies being developed out of the DoD as well as to more innovative companies that have the unique vision capable of reshaping the way many organizations operate."
