Technology Transition Assistance - MilTech
MilTech leverages TechLink's technology transfer activities and helps companies to transition innovative technology to Department of Defense operational use more quickly, reliably, and cost-effectively. This program is a partnership between TechLink and the Montana Manufacturing Extension Center. It operates nationwide.
MilTech provides critical engineering, manufacturing, and management assistance to small companies and assists DoD program managers with technology scouting, requirements generation, product design and engineering, rapid prototyping, and design review. MilTech operates cost-effectively by leveraging the nationwide Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) Program, which consists of 59 centers, 440 service locations, and 1,400 manufacturing engineers.
MilTech accelerates the transition of new technology to the US warfighter, increases the quality and sustainability of this technology, lowers the cost of technology acquisition, and helps DoD to more fully benefit from its R&D funding to US small business. MilTech has assisted in the transition and fielding of more than 95 new technology products from small American companies to US warfighter use. DoD clients include more than 25 DoD PMs and PEOs from the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and SOCOM.
