Marine Corps veteran Joe Crane, host of the popular Veteran on the Move podcast, interviewed TechLink’s Austin Leach on how American military veterans can become successful entrepreneurs by licensing technology from Department of Defense laboratories.

The 31-minute-long episode was published on iTunes and other podcast platforms on November 13. During the show, Leach explained to Crane how TechLink helps connect entrepreneurs with technologies developed by scientists and engineers in defense laboratories. Those technologies are then used to create new products or services.

TechLink, the DoD’s national partnership intermediary, is experienced in working with veteran entrepreneurs. Since 1999, the technology transfer center has facilitated many patent licensing agreements with veteran-owned small businesses.

In 2017, Per Vivo Labs founder Russ Hubbard, an Army combat veteran in Tennessee, worked with TechLink to license Army and Navy technologies he then developed into new products.
